Outsourcing your online marketing means more time to run your nutrition business and doing what you do best as a service-based business owner.
It does NOT mean losing your online identity, your voice, or your persona. It is the exact opposite.
This was an opinion from a prospect that I communicated with, who was seeking solutions to grow their private practice nutrition business. Without quoting them directly, they said they wanted to do their own social media marketing because they knew what they stood for.
Now, let me be clear, I am totally ok with DIY. Some folks prefer to do their own marketing and that’s completely their prerogative! There’s nothing wrong with it. Unfortunately, this person is misinformed about what outsourcing your marketing can do for your business and how it should work.
Allow me to clarify this misinformation that some of you may also be thinking about when it comes to outsourcing your online marketing (more specifically your social media):
What does it mean when you outsource your online marketing?
The definition of outsourcing is “to obtain goods or services from an outside source.” For example, my clients purchase my online marketing services from me as a contracted service outside of their private practice businesses and I fulfill them.
How does outsourcing online marketing work?
I can only answer this from my perspective and experience as a virtual online marketing specialist and owner of EWorks Online Marketing (as other contractors may perform it differently) so, when a client initially signs on to work with me, we figure out which of my services are best for them and proceed to discuss what that will look like every month.
For example, with social media marketing, I send the client the next month’s content items and due dates for them. Once I receive it, I record the written content, create the following month’s visual content and make note of any special dates that may come up. I prepare it all, send it back for review and schedule it upon approval from the client.
Here’s what I really want you to take note of:
*I help you amplify your voice online. I do not replace it.
*I don’t assume your voice or role in your content to say what I want to say. They are your social media platforms.
*I might comb through your other content to create the written posts if it’s not supplied by the client, but those posts, along with anything else that is created like images/videos/GIFs etc. is reviewed by you, the client, BEFORE it is ever published online.
*Any live posting whether it’s commenting, responding, liking, sharing or any networking is done by the client. It should always be authentic and real. It is not done by me.
What can outsourcing online marketing do for your business?
The online marketing services that I provide to my clients helps grow, build and support their nutrition private practices into thriving businesses.
It saves them a lot of time (in most cases months):
- to learn how to do it in courses and programs.
- to put into place what they have learned in the courses, test it and fine tune it.
- to continually take the time to do it on top of running their businesses being a private practice nutrition professional.
My clients don’t want to use their professional time to do their marketing because they simply don’t have the time for it, do not want to invest in the time to learn what I know, and their passion lies elsewhere.
Because after all time is money no matter what you do for a living and they’re registered dietitians or nutritionists for a reason!
They want to do what they’re meant to do ….be a private practice nutrition professional.
