Starting a business or operating one … new nutrition professional or seasoned …for either one, this can be a daunting task and even more so when you’re doing it on your own.
There are several components to get into place and one of those is an email marketing system.
When you’re shopping for an email marketing system, it’s likely that cost is going to be a deciding factor, and of course not all software will offer the same criteria in the different pricing packages that they offer. But sometimes the cost is worth the benefits that a paid package can offer. Giving you the flexibility to grow with ease and sometimes even faster because of it.
MailChimp, AWeber and ConverKit are 3 well known email software and are some that I’ve worked with over the last several years. Below I’ve outlined the free and paid version that is one step up from free one.
Each plan offers several features, but the main items to focus on are:
- Number of contacts
- Number of lists
- Maximum emails per month
- Optin forms
- Reports or stats
- Tech support
So, let’s take a look at those main items that are in the free and paid packages that these 3 email systems offer.
Again, each plan – whether free or paid – has more features to offer so, take your time to review them and often while they are very similar in features (despite the different terminology) there are some striking differences.
One of the biggest downfalls that I find in the free plans is the lack of tech support in MailChimp. While this email marketing system has changed for the better over the last couple years and upped its game, this is a feature that should never be eliminated no matter what plan you use. It does however, have a good automation system that is visually based in the paid plans like a flow chart and also the ability to design it by subscriber choice.
For me, I prefer (and also highly suggest to clients) AWeber and ConvertKit.
AWeber has a good system and reasonable priced plans to offer but their automations are a bit clunky and the visual design is based on listed follow-up emails. ConvertKit is the most expensive out of these 3 systems, but it has the best system in terms of automation and it gives you the authority to build a visual flow-chart style automation based on the subscriber’s decisions. It’s very similar to Infusionsoft – and by far cheaper – but the instead of designing it horizontally, it is vertical which is easier to work with.
